The Benefits of Mentor Softball Association
  • We have a maximum of 13 players per team so your child can learn the game and play more often.
  • Our coaches are continually instructing your child on the fundamentals of the game in every division, up through the Seniors.
  • Our Instructional Division is coach-pitched instead of tee ball, developing better hand-eye coordination and basic skills from the very beginning.
  • Mid-season tournaments are held with trophies awarded in each division, along with the end of season final standings trophies, giving more of an opportunity for recognition.
  • Uniforms shirts are distributed before Opening Day when pictures are taken, ensuring quick return of your photos.
  • Players from the younger divisions have the ability to play as call-ups in the older divisions, gaining more playing time.
  • We have a minimum of 12 games in the season, allowing the season to end mid-July, leaving plenty of time for vacations without missing any games!
  • Rainouts are rescheduled as soon as possible to make sure your child gets to play all games they are supposed to play

Welcome back to a new season of softball!

 
We can’t wait for the snow to be gone and practices start! Below you will find registration forms that you need. Please make sure you fill the forms out completely and return them to the post office box listed or drop them off at one of the Open Registration dates. Listed on this newsletter are some important dates, so don’t forget to mark them on the calendar now. Go get that glove out of storage and make sure your shoes still fit! The season will be starting before you know it!

REGISTRATION INFORMATION
The City of Mentor has recently made some budget cuts that have affected our league. We are being charged for field use and lights again this season, so we had to raise our application fee to $55.00 per person and $140.00 per family. However, if your application is postmarked before February 14th, 2011, you can get an Early Bird Discount and pay $50.00 per person and $125.00 per family. All applications must be post marked by April 1st, 2011, to be frozen to previous teams. Applications can be mailed to P.O. Box 216, Mentor, OH 44061, or dropped off at Open Registration at St. John Vianney Church Meeting Rooms during Open Registration on February 5th and March 5th, 2011.
